Sony Promises Ice Cream Sandwich Upgrade for Xperia P

Sony Promises Ice Cream Sandwich Upgrade for Xperia P Later This Month ::

Sony has announced that it will be releasing an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for Xperia P handsets later this month, just a month after it landed on the Xperia S. The software is scheduled to drop between August 19 and August 25, according to the Japanese company’s official Facebook page for India.

It’s unclear w
hether these dates apply to India alone, but even if this is the case, we’d expect to see the software in other territories around the same time. Sony’s previous rollouts have happened pretty quickly, and there hasn’t been too much delay between different territories.

Like the rest of Sony’s latest Xperia lineup, the Xperia P launched running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which was rather disappointing, considering Ice Cream Sandwich had been released nearly 12 months earlier. But it’s better late than never.
